Waiting is not my best quality, by far. Right now that is all we can do. We are waiting for a lot of things to fall right into place. I trust and know that God is Sovereign. He knows how and when everything will lined up to work into his wonderful plan for our move, lives, etc. But, I'm here waiting. And its not easy. We are battling with another client to get the loft we want. We keep bidding and I'm afraid that we are going to lose the location. We will see.
Three days left in Virginia which I am over the moon about.

Happy To Say Farwell
3.09.2010
Virginia, I can't tell you how much I am SOO happy to say goodbye.
Last weekend was jam packed with appointments with realators. By Sunday afternoon, we were both out of energy and ready to crash. We found a perfect loft, though. Hard work pays off. The loft is right off Washington Square and central to all of Center City. Three blocks east you have Old City with all the local boutiques, cafes, and nightlife. We have Washington Square to the South of our building with a park, historical browsing, and a mall across the street from us. We are a few blocks away from China Town but far enough away that we don't have to smell like China Town. Rittenhouse is within walking distance. I have said we are ready for this all to be over. But now, I say it with more intensity. Can we speed up time, please?!
We do have alot to fill our time with. This weekend we are off to New Orleans for a few days before we head to Dallas for my mother-in-laws wedding. All so exciting. We already have a visitor coming to see us in Philadelphia. Kayla is coming in May!

Walk on the Beach
2.28.2010
Today we ended up in Virginia Beach and took a walk down the beach. The sun was warm and the wind was cool. Great mix. I love living by water. Its smoothing. We are tying loose ends here in Virginia. Next weekend we have a trip up to Philadelphia to look for housing. Two weeks and we will be back in New Orleans. Can I tell you now, that I miss relaxing at my house with my husband. Yes, we have a house. We are renting a furnished house here and it's just not so comfortable. It's just not my stuff. I can't wait for a lazy day in our new residence in Philly.

Cell Phones are a pain in the r-EAR

My head keeps spinning with more details that need tending to. We are getting more anxious to move every day. Virginia is nice and quaint but not our cup of tea. I'm dreaming of the sounds of the city. Really. I am. Instead, the other night we woke up in the middle of the night to some animals fighting in our backyard. Hero of the night, Ted, went outside and broke the fight up and I feel back into blissful sleep.
Waking up from deep sleep is always hard. Its WORSE when someone calls and keeps calling. This morning. I'm sleeping soundly. My phone rings. I silence. My phone rings again. I look at it. Its work. Silence, I'm off today. If I answer, and they ask me to come in. Nah, I'd rather sleep the day away. Time, seven thirty. Sleep again, ahh. Phone rings, again. Eight o'clock. Silence, if they need something they'll leave a message. Listen, they want me to come in early. I'm not on the schedule today, duh. Wake up, call back, inform them of the schedule. Boss apologizes. AWAKE!

Feet and Heart

Ever have those days where you are just...... bummed out?
Thats me today. I think it started this morning after pressing snooze for the third time and knowing that I really needed to get up and really didn't want too. Then off to work, where I'm the new girl. It was insanely busy today and it seemed that everyone left me to everyone's work including mine. I need new shoes, my feet are screaming at me for being on them all day in poor support. Today found out my husband has the eleventh pick for places to move. Which we thought for sure we'd be in the top ten. Too many people coming off boats have higher picks. So, San Fran is definately off the list and by the time we get to it Seattle and New York will probably be off. Bummer. I would like to go to sleep and wish for a better tomorrow now.

Heart Pounding

You probably didn't know, but the orginal plan was for me to stay with my mother-in-law while Ted was in training in Virginia. It was kind of like a last minute deal we scored for me to move along with Ted. This is how it went. Ted and I drove his car to Virginia. I had a flight back to New Orleans where I was to pick up my car and drive to Dallas/Fort Worth for 2 1/2 months. We had planned two trips in between where I would fly into Virginia for a visit.
ANYWAYS, plans changed and I'm sooooooooooooooooo hhhhhapppppyyyyy they did. Because I don't think I could have managed being away from Ted that long. Instead of picking up my car and driving to Texas ...... I drove back to Virginia all by myself in which I'm very proud. Point being 'all by myself'.
I did make a stop in Atlanta for the night and crashed at a friend from high schools apartment. It took me about an hour to figure out that I had been in the wrong apartment complex on this STEEP mountain looking for her building number. Once I found the right complex with the right building number, I waiting again for some guys hanging out right right by where I was to pick up her spare key. I of course didn't want to go and get the key with them out. So, I waited in my car listening to some fun music.
Finally, they left and I found the hidden key and let myself in. I quickly changed into some comfy night clothes, turned on a movie, poured a glass of wine, and took a nap.
I woke up abruptly to 8 HUGE MEN who kicked down the front door and where now invading my friend (who I hadn't seen in at least the last 3 years) apartment. I not fully clothed and sleepy freaked!?!? I had the gusto to yell GET OUT!! pointing to the door GET THE FFF***#&@* OUT!!!! I freaked them out and they actually heeded my words and left. I quickly tried to figure out what the heck was going on while trying to put on some more clothes.
A minute later and a bit more decent, I answered the knocking on the door. Ma'am we are firefighters a pipe burst in your apartment flooding the building. OH! I get it now. I'm still shaking though. They march around the apartment and found that the pipe that was gushing was actually outside the apartment.
I cried. I was so tired, emotional, and completely freaked out. They knew they had freaked me out. The chief firefighter felt so bad. Seriously apologized for the abruptness countless times. Cheeks red, eyes pouring, and heart pounding..... I accepted his apology.
Thanks Atlanta Fire Department. I did call me friend and let her know what was happening and she even left work to come back.
I FOUND A JOB!!!
I'm working at a local coffee shop in Williamsburg about 20 minutes away.
Its a cute little shop with oh-my-goodness-gracious the best coffee ever !!! We roast beans in shop and have over 25 different blends. This is only making my coffee intake triple. So happy to be employed.
Since we have been here, I've almost through cooking out the window. And I hate it. I love to cook. I am making some ooey gooey bars and a chocolate sheet cake to take to a potluck on Saturday at a church we've been attending. Read on for recipe...

2010, I'm ready...
1.14.2010
This year I resolve...
to fill my day with laughter, dancing, and love.
to get better at keeping the laundry basket empty.
to stop thinking every once in awhile and let life happen...
to learn how to love my husband in ways he needs to be loved.
to not be soo darn serious all the time. But when my husband is being serious I need not to joke around then but be serious.
to cook more inventively.
to speak my mind less, to think before I speak, to love unconditionally.
to plan mini trips, and take them.
to learn how to be a better friend and keep in touch as we moved around.
to fall more in love with the Lord and my husband everyday.
Ok, Newport News... Here I am, ready to work hard. To be busy.

VIRGINIA
is for LOVERS
we moved.
did i mention, I hate moving?!
I love it, because I love new things...I love nesting and having reasons to buy more stuff... I have a strong dislike for packing, the extra hours of preparing for a move, the time without all your stuff at your close reach.
we are in Virginia.
its pretty here. we are close to dc. we will take a trip to new york.
ted's in school and right now i'm just trying to fill my time with stuff to do. i've filled out countless job applications. my hand is tearisome and i refuse to fill out another online job application [they take too long to fill out].
i do have an interview today in a hour.
