We are snowed in. Ted's off work. Wells is sleeping. I've decided to sip my coffee and jot down a few things that I have my eye on. Yesterday, I flipped through houses for sale in New Orleans (in case we end up there this summer). I found a perfect place for us to buy. If only we knew where we will be moving because we could jump on this one. I'm jumping the gun looking, but sometimes on snow days you just need to drool over real estate possibilities or like today current wants.

1. Castle Rattle set - This rattle set is so precious. Wells would love shoving it all in his mouth now and later might have some fun imaginative play. I love how soft each piece looks.

2. Snowed in & only things I'm missing are these cozy Lambswool House slippers

3. This Chitarra Pasta Cutter has been on my wishlist for some time now. I first used one when I was at Fork on the the pasta station. It's the best way to get perfectly cut spaghetti. I'd also love a roller attachment for the kitchen aid. I'm currently hand cranking pasta out & thankful for my friends Amy & Matt gifting me a manual roller.

4. I'm already sold on the $20 high chair at Ikea because it meets our needs, but I recently pinned this  Ovo Convertable High Chair because it's pretty.

5. Let's all order Linen Sheets when we say hello to spring.

6. A Pour Over Kettle would be ideal for our coffee addiction. Our current kettle needs an update and this would be a nice add to our kitchen. Plus they are great for pour over, chemex, and french press.

7. Let's talk more about linen. Heavenly Linen Chambray Towels

A day with us

9.16.2013

Last monday was normal. I decided to document our day. I made it halfway through before I started feeling bad. Long story short, I ended up in the ER last week with gallstones. The surgical team thinks I passed two stones before I even came in. The gallbladder attack that landed me in the ER was the third time it happen. The first attack I didn't know what was going on. The second I called my midwife and she insisted I go to the ER. I should have listened but I didn't. I couldn't fathom bringing Wells to the hospital and making Ted stay up all night. I was rolling, crawling, and in the worst pain of my life. I remember telling my midwife 'I think I'm having another baby I'm in so much pain'.

A few days after my second attack Ted ended up getting two infections one on his neck and the other on his leg. So, I was happy my pain seemed to be over as we focused our efforts on getting Ted better. It didn't end there. My third attack landed us in the hospital. My gallstones seemed to be in the ducts leading to my liver upon coming in to the hospital. My liver was read off the charts and it was scary. After the dreadful MRI (which wasn't as bad as I imagined), they concluded the stones weren't as bad as they thought but we would need to remove my gallbladder and the rest of the stones stat. Fast forward three days, surgery was successful and I'm miserable. I've been in the worst pain of my life similar to being in labor for several days.

I can't wait to get back to days like last monday just hanging out with Wells around the house.

Little Bean's Nursery Inspiration Board

3.14.2013

Nursery inspiration

One of the main questions people ask me is what theme the baby nursery is. And, I don't have a straight forward answer really. I'd say nautical but I'm not going for overall out to sea direction. To help my mom and put my ideas together, I created a inspiration board on polyvore. Some of the items are just filler's because I can't find the exact item we want/have already. Like the crib, it's not exactly it. But it's white and gets the point across.

I printed pictures from our trip to Italy and are having them framed. Pictures of the water in Capri. Boats. Etc. I already had the chevron rug and ours is gray (not navy like the picture shows). I also already have the creme de la creme print & credenza that we will use as a changing table. We'll add a comfy chair for our liking to the mix. However, I do love the look of the retro rockers. I purchased a white tepee that we can lay in and read books, play, and nap inside. Overall I want the room to feel cozy, fun, and a good mix of items.

A few items that I want to add to the mix are the sailboat mobile, anthropologie curtains, whale tissue box, and the mirror that I've wanted from Terrain for awhile.

Last night Ted & I went to the first time parents night that Just For Friends had. We scored loads of goods including two ikea bags full of clothes for little bean, bjorn carrier, and lots more for dirt cheap.

round UP the goods

Today we had our 19-20 week ultrasound. Ted & I loved seeing our baby move and groove. We are now waiting to find out the gender. We are meeting our friend and she is going to take pictures of the reveal. I have a card that has the box checked whether boy or girl in my purse. Along with the card, the sonographer put in the pictures of the wee parts in the envelope. I feel like I'm carrying gold in my purse. As I'm waiting, I decided to put together some goods that I find lovely. Enjoy the links.

Make with Wood

4.19.2012
it's no secret.. i love wood. i sat my wedding cakes on wood from the mississippi river. i have a branch hanging in my kitchen, an unfinished wood dining table, & a log next to my sofa. but, i've been throwing together more wood to do lists. here are a few that i've found on pinterest. other ideas in the makings... one especially on the list is a rustic bookshelf (to rid my house of our current ikea book cube).

 1. rustic dark wood headboard - i'd put this in a guest bedroom with other neutrals and sunshine.
 2. look at that chuck-y wood blocked coffee table. i'm currently repurposing our current coffee table (which is actually a antique trunk) into a bar cart. so i'm up for new ideas towards our next coffee table.
 3. tie up some firewood for a side table. the trick is cutting each piece the exact same
 3. i may paint our current tree stump. i go back in forth whether i'd like it. i like the natural wood look too. our stump just cracked like this one above.
 4. wood crate paint - i have several of these crates. i'd love to put wheels on one.
 5. look at these huge and gorgeous tree stumps in gold. eeek. i like, i like.
 6. taking this print idea more natural and trying to stamp an actual tree?! i wonder if it would come out.
8. side table or turn the branches facing up with a piece of glass for a circular coffee table. glue or nail together.
