Our summer ends in Seattle.

2.15.2016

Seattle. The city our hearts have been set on for several years. If you have been reading my blog from the beginning than this isn't a surprise to you. For the next several months, we will be soaking up all the sun, sand, and salty air we can. Our continuous summer has been hands down the best thing that could have happened in the last two years. We love St. Thomas. Our hearts have been warmed by each corner of this lovely island we are calling home. But, I can't help but anticipate a new adventure. A new home. A new community. A new state. A new grocery store. A new cafe. A new park. All the new excited me.

Currently, we are planning an epic road trip ending in Seattle. I am stoked. If you have a suggestion for something to see, do, or eat from Dallas through Tuscan, Palm Springs, San Fran, Portland, and on... leave a note in the comments below.

Wells Emerson

Two years ago, I sent my mom flowers to my grandmother's house on Thanksgiving. She was confused as to why. She did a victory arm throw to the news and dance that I edited out. I know, I know... the video is crazy bad, but I am still thankful to have it filmed. It is the next best thing to being there in person. Ted's sister, Kristina, filmed my mother-in-law finding out. Continuing into the video, I can't apologize for the length. I do apologize for some bad quality videos. I gathered videos from everywhere including snapchat. I had to fit hours of footage into less than ten minutes (my limit for myself). I tried five but could not do it. The video spans -9 months to 15 months of life.

My heart bursts with joy and gratitude for our little boy.

His giggles are the best.

The majority of my life I've shared a thanksgiving me with strangers, friends, and bystanders. Spending lots of Thanksgivings serving, feeding, and friending homeless people with either my immediate family or my friends. I can add countless invites, from friends and their families, to a warm meal to my thankful list. Although I miss family on holidays, I am so grateful for friends that share theirs with us.

Besides homemade dinner rolls and pecan pie, what I love about Thanksgiving is filling our hearts with gratitude and sharing it with others. Joining tables and sharing meals should always be this way, full hearts and full bellies.

What currently makes my life so full this Thanksgiving:

'Nice to meet you' hand shakes from Wells.
Bug repellant to keep the mosquitos away
How incredibly cuddly Wells is with both me and Ted.
Ted, period.

The short amount of time it takes to get ready this holiday. Sandals, shorts, tank. Check.
Sand in all the right places in the fall and coming into the winter season.
Adventure. This crazy yet so cool life we have and how we can to explore new places.
Food. I love food.

A good night of sleep.
Date nights.
Potted plants
Stain remover.

The postal service that delivers me all my online purchases.
Friends that send cards in the mail just because.
New friends. Sweet friends. Old friends. Visiting friends.
Cheesy grins from Wells and his constant 'Hellos'.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Remember when

10.03.2014
Time hop is one of my favorite apps. I love looking at what we were doing on each day for the last 5 years through social media. This whole week I've been having flash backs to our trip to France and Italy. Ahh, I can't wait to go back. Especially to Paris! Here's a little teaser of our time in Paris, Rome, and Capri.

Philadelphia

Philadelphia from Tamara Ohman on Vimeo.

A few months ago, I thought I'd throw together a little family video of us in Philadelphia. This has always been the case when I'm trying to do a family video. Maybe I should start filming other people because I believe it would be easier to get my idea across if I didn't have to be in it. But, for now I like short little clips of thrown together family videos to remember our moments lived. Well all my plans seem to run into some kind of problem like weather, equipment, and time. Originally, this was suppose to be a timelapse but in the end I winged it on a very humid and yucky day. My friend, Ashley, held the camera when I couldn't. Thank you.

I just wanted to remember the nursery, home, and city where we had Wells. I always want to remember the first nursery I put together and walking in to get him up in the mornings out of his crib. Philadelphia is an underrated city that we completely fell for.

Last year, today was my due date and all I wanted was to hold my little bean in my arms! My arms have been full this last year with such a fun loving boy. Mama loves you Wells. We will always remember the places we call home.

2013

1.08.2014

I made a video of 2013. It is full of growth. Unfortunately, the music didn't upload correctly. Enjoy.
2013 was a favorite and will be cherished forever.

This were are hightlights of 2013.

Our trip to Seattle in January.

Finding out we were having a BOY on February 28, 2013.

Going home in march for a small baby shower with friends and another with family.

Grow, grow, growing a baby.

Celebrating our fourth wedding anniversary.

Laboring for three days and pushing for 3 hours, OMG!

Falling in absolute blissful love with our firstborn, Wells Emerson.

Many of firsts have been praised and excessively celebrated: first smile, first pout, first poot, first high five, first snort, first roll over, first coo, first blow out, first flight, first road trip, first bottle, first boob, first bath, first food, first sip... all the firsts make us take a step back and not take one moment for granted.

Sharing our birthday for the sixth time.

It's been an amazing year.

2013 the year we became parents!

One of these days, I'd love to plan out a video that I throw music on. I'm one of those people that like taking pictures and video but feel extremely weird doing so, like I'm annoying you. I know that I take a million photos, but I even try to hurry and shoot so I don't annoy Ted. So many times I wish I would have snapped a few more or put more attention to detail. But, the snap and go method works for me right now. We recently took a family roadtrip to visit my little brother, Paul, in Lexington. We mostly ate food. Really, really good food and yet I didn't get one clip of it. It was a short but very delicious trip.Wells did great winging it with college boys and in the car for 20+ hours (there and back and then some). I can't wait to go back in May for Paul's graduation!

Philadelphia picnic

8.14.2013

Today we browsed The Barnes Foundation. A morning spent with Monet, Modigliani, Matisse, Picasso, and on... My personal favorite piece was probably Monet's "The Studio Boat (Le Bateau-atelier). Wells slept mostly. We made our exit after viewing one portion of the museum and went for a picnic.

We picnicked off Montgomery Avenue where my favorite view of Philadelphia is. We sat under a gigantic tree, let the wind blow our hair mad, and tried to not let the bugs ruin our picnic. It was a beautiful breezy day. I made a little spontaneous video of our little family picnic. Enjoy.

last night i finally found my sim card reader. i uploaded pictures & clips from our mini anniversary trip to saugerties, new york. i threw clips that we recorded down & put music to it. it's not perrrfect but it's just a little something for us to remember. take a peek.

the new place is starting to shape up with furniture & stuff going to its appropriate place. ted's been doing a lot of drilling, hanging, & fixing. ahhh, rentals. we can't fit our queen box spring up the stairs it's currently hanging out in the dining room. i suggested cutting the wood frame in half just so we could fold it, bring it up the stairs, & then fold it out. anyone ever do this? so, we are going to get it a go this weekend and see if it works before we dish our money for something else.

A video today and photos to come. Enjoy.

Trailer is out.

8.30.2011
My friend, Nathan, wrote a short film last year and the trailer is now out. The film is coming this winter.

'In a very non-traditional way, this film explores the concepts of truth, culture, and lifestyle.'

This is a low budget film. It would be great to have thousands millions of dollars to spend on advertising. Please watch, it's only a minute of your time. Feel free to share via twitter, facebook, etc.

While I'm here putting plugs in for friends... let me share this show with you. If you are in or around Philly...Benjamin Dunn and Friends will be here on October 5th at Circle of Hope. It's $5 at the door. Watch Melody of Salvation. And if your up for another watch this, too. Ben and his wife moved to New Orleans after Katrina to lead worship I was attending then. Enjoy.

AND, lastly congrats to my dear friend Alec Lomani for winning MTV IGGY's artist of the week
