Confessions about Jersey
2.06.2012
One of things that surprises anyone that visits us in Philly is how close we are to Jersey. We are less than three miles away. Just a simple river dividing. Here's a few things to clear up and confessions:
1. No everyone is not like the television show Jersey Shore. Not much big hair, fake tans, accents, and gel. That's for a few select individuals that we have yet to encounter.
2. In Jersey, you can't pump your own gasoline. Nope the attendant has to do it for you. While it can be frustrating sitting in a line of caring waiting... it is so nice to not have to get out to pump gas while it's blistering cold outside.
3. I have never seen so much bad fashion in my life. I'm still not talking about the television short club wearing girls and boys. No, just in general people don't have style.
4. Everyone lovevs dunkin donuts and soft pretzels. I don't understand the hype.
5. Fall in Jersey is g o r g e o u s .
6. We are so close to the shore (ocean). But, it's no Florida. Florida beaches are pristine, beautiful and mostly free. The shore cost a few bucks to lay around and it's kind of dirty with freezing water.
7. You can't make left turns or u turns... it's all jug handles. And this is so annoying.
8. There are so many unexpected beautiful, fun little towns along the river.
9. Bagels haven't tasted better.
10. There are many, many farms.
