Style #1

10.18.2011
First up is a cascading braid aka side french braid. I actually tried this style out a few weeks ago for the very first time. I braided my first french braid only a few months ago. Even as a kid, my mom didn't know how to french braid. So, figuring out the french braid made me feel girly and childlike. I have yet to master the technique but I'm catching on.

This braid starts on one side of your head going all the way around down in a normal three fold braid. What I found most difficult was portioning sizes of adding hair to the braid evenly.  If you look at my photos below you can see that some folds are thicker than others. I felt like my second go at the cascading braid was much easier.

Over this past weekend, I tried the side french braid again. This time starting from the left side of my head and ending on my part right (part side) side. I felt that this looked more natural than when I tried this look the first time starting on the opposite side.

(This set of photos I took pictures with photobooth on my mac hence the mirror effect.) The right cascading braid felt strange when I had completed it. It could be because I originally wanted to fold the braid tail up for a updo look. Since the tail was on the opposite side as my part it didn't look right so I just ended up wearing it down.

Hardest part about this look: Switching hands while starting to braid in the back and than back again once its coming around the the front.

Time for this look: The first time I spent about 10 minutes and the second right around 5.

Next time: The next time I want this look, I'm going to try curling my hair first. Or maybe curl my hair one day and on the day 2 of curls french braid to the side. I think this way it would be more forgiving on bumps, bubbles, and fly aways.

What a cute style! I would never be able to recreate this look. I suck at styling my hair, but yours certainly looks adorable.

Hello! It was actually really, really easy to change my blog URL. I was really worried about doing it because I didn't want to lose followers or any posts. I looked under blogger questions and problems to find out how to do it:

Go to your blog Dashboard, then Settings, Publishing, Change blog URL (it's the first thing).

It's that simple. The only thing is that then your blog can no longer be found at the old address. It doesn't automatically forward it to the new one. So for example, say you had my old address saved under the blogs you were following, if you clicked on it, it would take you to the old page and you wouldn't be able to see it. You have to go in and add me again with the new address. I realized all this because I was following my own blog and it didn't work when I clicked on it from the blog reading list page.
That's why i'm messaging all my followers that I know read my blog sometimes so they can update their lists! It's a pain but it's helping me stay in touch along the way with everyone! :)

Hope this helps, Jill

Yes this helps answer my questions! Thank you.

I do have one more... since your followers stay following... will your blog still show up in the blogger feed or any other platform feed?
