1960s at Avery Island

9.17.2011

My aunt sent me these two pictures in my email this morning. They are so perfect. The first photo is of my Great Grandma Ruby and my Grandma Jane (on the right). They had spent the day on Avery Island in Louisiana (where Tabasco sauce is made) in the 60's.

My Great-Grandma Ruby was the most creative, well dressed lady ever. Usually she wouldn't be seen without a perfect hat. She was from England and had class like no other. She had the best slim figure even though she had chocolate (York patties being her favorite) and a coke every afternoon. I of course loved visiting her in the afternoon. And below is my mom (on the right) and aunt petting some dog. My mother is horrified of dogs so this picture is surprising. I love their red bonnets.

Wow, your great-grandma. That's pretty awesome.
