We are home. I always feel vacations extends until all my pictures are uploaded & I pick out my favorites. Here are some. I found Lost River Modern in Dwell magazine. I quickly googled it & sent over the information to Ted. We had several tentative plans for our anniversary/babymoon including Montreal & St. Michaels, Maryland. We crossed off Montreal early on because of how close we are to my due date & how far away it is. St. Michaels was a great alternative but still not exactly what we were looking for. Once we found LRM we knew it was perfect for us.

Best decision. The house was perfection. This is how I camp, surrounded by nature but inside something gorgeous. There was a far share of bugs which makes me feel like I'm camping. The perks were endless. Everything was stocked with basic and thoughtful necessities. We brought groceries but the kitchen was stocked with essential items like flour, sugar, butter, oil, spices, etc. The owner, Chris, has an amazing cd, magazine, dvd, game, book collections for your stay. The house was roomy with three bedrooms, two bathrooms, and two living spaces. The children's room was stocked with toys and books. Outside Ted enjoyed the zip line & I was amused from a far (couldn't get my pregnant self up the hill). The wood firing hot tub was relaxing.

The driveway up to the house was very, very steep as Chris forewarned. We put it in 4 wheel drive and down a gear. I would have been a little nervouse heading up in our other car. We explored the Lost River area which was beautiful. We used the guest pass to the state park's swimming pool which was surprisingly very nice. We also went on a few short adventure trails & swam in a trout pond.

Overall my favorite thing about our week was spending uninterrupted time together. We didn't have cell phone service so no calls or texts. Bliss. Internet worked great. Score. And we had a land line in case we needed to dial out.

From Philadelphia, it was about a 4 hr 45 min drive. We stopped in Maryland & visited our friends Nick & Mya which broke up the trip perfectly. And on the way home we went through Harrisburg and stopped in on our friends Yana, Chris, and their two adorable kids. The drive through Harrisburg was about 20 minutes more than going through Maryland plus a little headache of 76, but worth seeing friends! All in all, Ted & I don't mind a drive so it wasn't a big deal that LRM was about 5 hours away.

We can't wait to book our next trip to Lost River Modern. It's a gem.
